With many changes and a couple new faces the Shelbyville race team known as Team UXC makes its way into the slightly warmer state of Florida. Anticipating the 2013 GNCC race season to be a success multi-time champion Michael Swift brings a few changes to his program. For the 2013 season Swift will be switching up his ride and will join the U2 class of racers aboard his Can-Am Renegade Xxc. “Can-Am has been a part of Team UXC racing for many years of great competition and we are happy to be riding Yellow again in 2013,” says Swift.

Changing to the Renegade platform seemed to be an easy transition for Swift and with many hours of valuable seat time on the new G2 chassis in 1Outlander trim the team was several steps ahead of the game from the start. One notable change to the machine was a step to the Custom Axis shocks for the Can-Am Renegade Xxc. Team UXC racing realized the importance of a full suspension support program and with the addition of Custom Axis shocks these woods warriors are ready for opening day.

Team UXC racings Michael Swift will also be competing in the XC2 Pro-Am SXS class inside the cockpit of his Can-Am Maverick. “This newly released race machine has gathered attention for its huge horsepower and long travel suspension and we hope to get it noticed on the podium many times this season!” exclaimed Swift.“Our goals include not only learning this new chassis for future development, durability and overall performance but we also plan to take our sponsors products to the top with us”. Racing the Can-Am Maverickgives Team UXC racing yet another avenue to grow their racing experience, which is among the core goals according to Swift.

Team UXC Racing also plans to attend select OMA race events as well as the Heartland challenge to keep their training in check as well as to put their Can-Am machines out front. “We feel it is necessary to stay fine tuned as this sport develops faster as well as smarter riders each and every year” says Swift.

Joining the crew under the Team UXC tent for 2013 will be Tayton Swift, the young son of Michael. Tayton will be running his Can-Am DS90X in the 90 limited 8-11 year old racers. Tayton is no stranger to the track and hopes to secure a few wins while learning the discipline it takes to become a national champion.

Team UXC Racing also welcomes Don Higby and Carl Vella to the big yellow tent as both of these racers will be competing in the 4X4 senior class. Both racers have years of experience in the wide-open desert terrain. Don Higby runs a very successful Can-Am dealership in Casper Wyoming and has a passion for racing while proving this in his Ironman finish in the Vegas to Reno desert competition.

Carl Vella will also be using his race experience from many years of Baja and Score series racing. Carl secured the 2011 UTE class championship and sees the woods racing as a new challenge.

Team UXC Racing would like to thank their sponsors for the 2013 season:
