IXCR Wraps Up 2012 Season

The Indiana Cross Country Racing series just finished up the last round of the 2012 season.Ã Looking back, we could not be happier with how things have gone this year.Ã According to any records that I can find this was a record breaking year for the Hoosier state.Ã We averaged 413 riders and the total thru the gate attendance average was 1,716 people.Ã We had several rounds where we would have near 200 bikes complemented by 150+ quads.Ã And let’s not forget about the youth riders, they are the future of our sport so it’s always great to see new faces showing up and watch them grow and develop their racing skills.
2012 saw many challenges for IXCR including Mother Nature doing everything from triple digit temps and dust so thick you couldn’t cut thru it with a knife.Ã All the way to some frigid temps when the season first began.Ã We added some new locations to the schedule and will continue to look for new locations to host races.Ã When the series first started we had very limited locations and with the help of riders, spectators, and everyone’s help we have been able to branch out all across the state and not just in one area, so we would like to thank everyone for helping us grow.
The series also teamed up with the great people over at MidWest Cross Country to hold a couple very large events and that does two things.à It provides some great racing action and gives everyone an opportunity to see how they stack up against other riders from the area.à So a big “Thank You”à to MidWest for teaming up with us!
The 2012 racing action may be over and in the books but one event still remains!Ã The awards banquet will be held on January 5th, 2013 at the Indiana Downs/Grand Casino in Shelbyville, In.Ã This is a great evening of celebrating the accomplishments of all racers from the youngest pee wee rider all the way up to the oldest riders on the line who qualified for the banquet.Ã Keep an eye on the web site for ticket information and also for new changes coming to the site to make it more user friendly (even on mobile devices)!
We just wanted to take a quick second to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for coming out and supporting our series all year long.Ã We know you have choices and that is a good thing, but we really appreciate you choosing to race with us.Ã We do our very best to make every race as much fun as it can possibly be and with the great landowners and the amazing staff that we have we would like to think we are getting it done.Ã Everyone please have a safe and happy holiday season and spend some time with your family and be sure to brag on how you did against some of the best racers in the state while watching some football over Thanksgiving dinner.
