American Beta has signed 18 year old Ohio racer Justin Sode to their Factory Team for the 2013 season. Sode will be moving up to the highly-contested GNCC XC2 class and will also compete in the AMA National Enduro series aboard the all-new Beta 250 RR 2-stroke. Sode has been racing a Beta 350 RR for the past two years in the Open A class and is now ready to move up.

The highlight of his season was taking overall A honors and finishing 14th overall beating many of the Pro class riders at Round 9 of the Enduro series held in Indiana. Sode finished off the season with a solid 2nd place finish at the Gobbler Getter, the last round of the National Enduro series aboard his Beta. Sode also finished the GNCC series in a solid 2nd place in points with five podiums and two wins.

“Heading into this last weekend i knew I just needed to get a solid result to finish the year in 2nd. Rain during race day turned dusty track conditions into perfect race condition. The Gobbler Getter had long tests throughout the whole day, with each test offering single track, logging roads, log crossings, and off-camber sections. I had strong test throughout the day with section times inside the top 20, finishing the day with a 2nd in class and 17th overall.” Sode explains.

Beta’s Tim Pilg explains, “We are very excited to sign Justin for 2013. The kid has great moto skills and a positive attitude which is exactly what we are looking for. We feel with the combination of his abilities and our new 2-stroke, we will show the world that Beta is a serious contender. He is competitive in both GNCC and Enduro events which is rare in today’s racing atmosphere. We feel that riders that can be competitive in multiple disciplines will earn better results as it keeps them better in tune and Justin has those skills to get the job done.”Â

Sode will be visiting California in November to do some testing with fellow Factory Beta ace Cody Webb. He will also race the last round of the AMA/Geico Enduro Cross series held in Las Vegas on November 17th.

Sode continues, “The Vegas Endurocross should be epic! Last year I led over half of my heat race up until the point were I made a few mistakes and i just couldn’t put in a good ride to make it into the main. This year I plan on just riding a smart race keeping it on 2 wheels and hopefully i can make it to the main. The 2012 race season went AMAZINGLY! With great team support and an amazing bike led to a very successful season. With 4 wins, 12 podiums and an amateur overall aboard my Beta 350RR, I finished the season 2nd in points in both National Enduro and the GNCC Series. I look forward to being with American Beta for the 2013 series aboard the new 250 RR 2-stroke. With the 4-strokes amazing handling, smooth power delivery, and overall performance I feel equally confident in the 250”²s performance.”Â
