FLY Racing’s Thomas Takes GNCC XC2 Title

Tuesday, November 6, 2012 | 8:45 AM
Entering the final round of the series, the championship race for the GNCC XC2 Pro Lites title couldn’t be any closer with one point separating reigning XC2 Champion Steward Baylor and Jason “UK7” Thomas. This set up a winner-takes-all showdown between the veteran Thomas and youngster Baylor, both wearing FLY Racing’s 2013 racewear.

Thomas started and stayed near the front and rode a consistent race, heeding way to Andrew Delong for the race win, but doing what he needed to beat Baylor across the line and take his first XC2 title. It was later revealed that Baylor had entered the day’s race with a recently broken collarbone yet still finished an amazing fourth place on the day and second in the championship!

Congratulations to Jason Thomas: 2012 GNCC XC2 Pro Lites Champion! FLY would also like to congratulate Steward Baylor and Andrew Delong for their hard fought second and third place in the final standings. All-in-all it was a fantastic year of racing for FLY riders in the XC2 class taking a total of eight podium sweeps during the 13 race series and multiple amateur titles.
