Free 2009 Demo Rides and Special Events Scheduled for Ironman GNCC Finale
Outdoor trade show showcases the latest products
CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. (October 21, 2008) -- Fun will not be restricted to the race track at the final round of the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series. This weekend's Klotz Ironman GNCC features free demo rides and off-track entertainment unlike any other round of the 13-race GNCC tour.
“We think of the Ironman GNCC as a lot more than just a race,”à says GNCC Trail Boss Jeff Russell. “With all the demo rides and entertainment off the track, plus a lot of riders trying new machines and new classes on the track, this one has a totally different feel than anything else we do.”Ã
Can-Am, Yamaha and KTM will have 2009 products on site for fans to take test rides, with ATVs from Can-Am and Yamaha and the full line of XC bikes and ATVs from KTM. All three manufacturers have set up GNCC-like test courses to put the machines through their paces. Polaris will have its 2009 models on display as well. Yamaha will also host a championship celebration for nine-time GNCC ATV Champion Bill Ballance, complete with snacks and giveaways.
In addition, racers and fans may shop during the only GNCC swap meet of the season. With the season complete, racers and fans are encouraged to clean out their garages, work shops, trucks and vans and sell whatever they no longer need. No special permits are required to buy or sell--just set up your spot in your pit or take a stroll through the pit area to see what's available.
A pair of monster trucks will perform demos throughout the weekend, with Stone Crusher and Mopar Magic on hand.
With Halloween just around the corner, a costume contest will take place on the starting line of the 1 p.m. Pro races on Saturday (ATVs) and Sunday (motorcycles). The winners will receive trophies just like the ones awarded to the racers.
Demo rides will begin on Friday afternoon and continue into the weekend. Fans are encouraged to bring gear to wear during the ride demos.
