Sad news in the motorcycle racing world, as Rich Caselli, father of 2007 WORCS Champion and ISDE Top American Kurt Caselli, has passed away after a bout with cancer. We received this note from Red Bull KTM Off-Road Team Manager Antti Kallonen:

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Yesterday afternoon, our KTM rider Kurt Caselli’s dad, Rich Caselli, passed away.  Rich passed away at his home in Palmdale, CA due to an unforeseen illness.

Rich was a great man and was well known among the off-road racing family. He was genuinely likeable, and his continuous efforts in off-road racing will be remembered now and forever.

I have never met anyone that was such an enthusiastic motorcycle fan!  If he wasn’t watching his son race, he would be somewhere else at a local race watching the future stars or simply riding himself with his dear friends. We will certainly miss him from the bottom of our hearts.

I received a text from Kurt Caselli this morning. It was brief but he wanted to tell me to pass on to the WORCS family he appreciates all the emails and concerns through this difficult time. Kurt says he is doing well and spending time with the family and helping stay strong through this difficult time. Cards & flowers can be sent to the following address.

Caselli Family:  1245 Coventry Pl.; Palmdale, Ca 93551. Kurt said he will call me tomarrow and will be emailing me an open letter to his fans and the WORCS family.
