A few weeks ago, a rule proposal came up for the 2009 AMA Motocross Championship. The rule proposes to allow 250cc two-stroke motorcycles to compete in the Motocross Lites Class, against 250cc four-stroke motorcycles.

The Racer Productions crew then considered adopting this rule for the GNCC XC2 Pro Lites Class for 2009--allowing 250cc two-strokes to compete in the class against 250cc four-strokes.

After a few weeks of research, however, we have decided not to adopt the rule change for 2009. With the new season just two months away, there simply won't be time for many privateer racers to switch or test new equipment if they choose to make a change.

If the new rule passes for motocross in 2009, GNCC Racing will adopt the rule change for the XC2 Lites class in 2010.
