18th Annual KTM Youth Day Returns to The John Penton GNCC This Weekend
KTM Youth Day Focuses on Celebrating Future of Off-Road Racing

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (May 20, 2022) – The Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series presented by Specialized, an AMA National Championship, is excited to announce the 18th running of KTM Youth Day thanks to KTM North America, Inc. at this weekend’s Wiseco John Penton GNCC in Millfield, Ohio.

KTM Youth Day will focus on celebrating the future of off-road racing by offering special weekend activities centered round youth racers. Every Micro and Youth motorcycle racer who enters into The John Penton GNCC race will receive a commemorative Youth Day t-shirt. Racers will receive a ticket at the GNCC Registration, where they can then redeem for a free t-shirt at the KTM Trackside Support truck. For 2022, KTM will also be handing out a limited supply of “Aaron Plessinger-inspired” cowboy hats at the Trackside Support truck.

Riders and fans are also encouraged to stop by the KTM Trackside Support truck on Saturday at 4 p.m. for a BBQ dinner supporting The Ryan Dungey Foundation. The proceeds from this BBQ dinner will go towards the organizations efforts to create opportunities to support a healthy and active lifestyle for kids. Then on Saturday evening the ePeeWee (STACYC) racing will kick off at 6 p.m. where KTM will be giving away special bibs for all participants and a t-shirt to all finishers of Saturday’s race.

Then on Sunday morning after the youth motorcycle race, the FMF KTM Factory Racing Team and KTM-supported pro riders will be at the finish line to award each racer with a finisher medallion as they take the checkered flag. KTM will also have the following Youth models on display under the Trackside Support truck throughout the weekend: a lowered KTM SX E-5, standard KTM SX E-5, KTM 65 SX and KTM 85 SX.

This weekend’s event serves as the seventh round of the 2022 GNCC Series. The John Penton GNCC continues to embrace KTM history as the event is named after the man who originally imported the KTM motorcycle from Austria into the United States. As a salute to Mr. John Penton, KTM will once again honor youth racers throughout the course of the weekend.
