Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Josh Strang Takes Round 2 Win

Wednesday, March 16, 2016 | 11:25 AM

Round 2 of GNCC took place in Sparta, Georgia where rider Josh Strang claimed his second overall win of the season! With the rain passing, the course was left with wet sand, hard-pack, tree roots, and a few mud holes. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racings Josh Strang started the race off in 3rd, but made a quick pass into 2nd place. From there, Strang followed closely behind the leader before he made a pass for the lead. A technical mud hole led to Josh Strang falling back into second, but this did not hinder his ability to hold 2nd place, only 10 seconds behind the leader.

As the second to last lap continued, Josh Strang closed his gap to the leader to about 1 second,  and waited for the right moment to make a pass. With the white flag out Strang made a quick pass and never looked back. He rode his Husqvarna FC 450 to the win while gaining a good 15 seconds over second place.

"My race went well. I just had to stay up front. I felt good and after tangling with a vine and losing some time, I was able to catch back up to make a pass for the lead on the last lap!" said an excited Josh Strang.

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Andrew DeLong did not participate in this round due to a previously sustained injury.

Husqvarna supported rider, Ryan Sipes, claimed 6th place with Thad Duvall close behind in 8th.
