Team UXC Race Report: Team UXC Back On Top

Thursday, June 11, 2015 | 2:55 PM

Team UXC/Polaris Factory Racing’s Michael Swift #208 wins the Pro 4x4 class at the famous John Penton Raceway. Teammate Don Higbee took his second win of the season in the 40+ 4x4 Class.

Pro 4x4 teammates Swift and Kevin Trantham worked their way into position through lap one. Trantham suffered a drive belt issue pulling him from the race, while Swift swapped position a couple of times for 2nd and worked hard to secure his spot.

Swift took advantage of a line in the woods to make a clean pass for the lead. After receiving the white flag, #208 utilized the superior handling of his Polaris Scrambler 850 EPS to place a buffer between him and 2nd place. This buffer was important for Swift before entering the last mile of the race consisting of the motor cross section. Swift was able to hold onto the lead through the checkered for his third Pro 4x4 Class win of the 2015 GNCC season.

“The Polaris Scrambler 850 EPS handled great today with the combination of the Maxxis tires and custom Axis shocks. I am very proud to be able to give Polaris and all of our team sponsors another Pro 4x4 win,” stated Swift.

Team UXC rider Don Higbee #640 battled hard all day on the 10-1/2 mile track, swapping positions many times. After the two hour race, Higbee claimed the top spot taking his second 40+ 4x4 Class win. “I had a great run today. Everything fell into place and the hard work I have put in is paying off. The win moves me into second place in the points chase and I couldn’t be happier,” commented Higbee. Teammate Nic Snyckers finished just outside the podium with a 4th place in the 4x4 Novice Class.

Out west, Chris Robinson competed in the first round of the TORN series. He finished with an impressive 2nd place podium aboard his Polaris Scrambler 1000 EPS.

On the UTV side, Kevin Trantham raced the #202 900S RZR bringing home a 1st place finish in the Open Class, claiming his second win of the season and moving him back into the points lead. Michael Swift brought home a 5th place finish in the XC2 Pro Sport Class pushing him into 2nd place in the points chase. Marc Sparato and Josh Copeland went 4th and 5th in the Polaris Ace during the UTV single seat action.
