Wicked Bilt/ Can-Am drivers David Plavi and Treavis Poynter fought electrical problems and are looking to bounce back after difficult runs at the John Penton GNCC.

Treavis Poynter, in the XC1 Pro UTV Class, was running third when a fuse blew and his machine lost power: “I was reeling in (second-place finisher) Mouse Pratt. I hit a jump, a fuse blew and we lost power. It’s unfortunate,” said Poynter.

Though Poynter is effectively out of the championship points chase, he’s not giving up: “We’re going to run for wins going into the next round. The first two races were great, but the last race and this race just weren’t meant to be. I’m going to do a lot of testing in the summer break. We may also run some other races. We just want to get dialed in for October,” said Poynter

David Plavi had a great start in the XC2 Pro Sport Class. After falling back in the dusty conditions, he was charging back through the field when a blown fuse also ended his race early: “My machine fired instantly, we beat everyone off the line and got the holeshot. The dust got really bad, and we fell back. I was charging back through, landed a jump, and the car shut off,” said Plavi.

Dave Plavi would also experience mechanical issues during the John Penton GNCC, however he is still in contention for the XC2 Pro Sport SxS Championship

Plavi remains in contention for the GNCC XC2 Pro Sport SXS Championship. He sits fourth, just six points out of the lead: “This will definitely be my throwaway. I am still in the points chase. We’re going to do a bunch of testing and practice. I want to keep all of my stuff on point.”

Both Plavi and Poynter will return to UTV competition when the GNCC UTV classes return to action after UTV racing summer break on Oct. 20th at the Powerline Park GNCC in St Clairsville, Ohio
