Chase Hayes has been putting together an excellent 2015 season thus far. Coming into the Limestone 100, Chase holds the points lead in the Super Mini (14-15) class. We caught up with Chase to chat about his season thus far, hopes for the rest of the season, and more.

GNCCRacing.com: How's it going today?
Chase Hayes: It’s been a busy day for sure, just got out of school and now I’m headed to a soccer game!

So tell everyone a little about yourself.
I go to Alice Drive Middle School, I’m in the 8th grade, and play for Sumter High Sxhool JV soccer team. Outside of school and racing, I love to go to the lake and do some fishing with my brother, Zack.

How did you get started racing?
I started riding when I was 5 years old. My dad got me a JR50 with training wheels, but I wouldn’t ride it until he took them off (laughs). But my dad raced, and Zack raced, so of course I followed in their footsteps, and here I am!

Your brother has been having an awesome season in Open-A this year. How much does it help you to be able to ride with him?
Yeah, Zack has had a solid year winning the first 4 rounds. He pushes me to ride and train more, so he helps a lot. We don’t ride very much, but just being able to hear some of his tips and a big help and he always tells me to keep my head up after every race.

So tell us how your season has gone so far.
This season has been going well for me. I’ve been staying consistent and its showing with having the points lead. I knew consistence would be a big help, so that’s always my goal.

How's it feel to have the class points lead right now?
Having the points lead is great, but I really need some wins to help keep my points lead alive. Wins, and consistently keeping it on the box is what makes champions!

Do you think you can hold onto it for the rest of the year?
Oh yeah, I know I can win this championship!

What is the competition like in your class?
The competition is really tough for sure. Starts are key and pushing my own limits to the max is all I can do. I know I can win, and I’ll try my best to do so.

What do you hope to accomplish through the rest of the season?
Definitely want to win stay consistently on the podium and start grabbing some wins.

What do you hope to accomplish in the future?
This year I really want to come away with this championship, then move on to B class and win that championship as well, and just see where things go from there.

What's it going to take to make that happen?
Keeping my head straight is the main thing. That, along with staying healthy, and training will make it happen.

Alright before we wrap this up, who would you like to thank?
I’d like to thank, my mom, dad, and Zack. Brad Hodge, William Russell, Bart Hayes, Johnny McCoy, EVS Brown’s RV, Moose Racing, Battery Park, RidePG, Kenda, FMF, Neeley Racing and all my fans!
