Ruckle Race Report From Powerline Park

Wednesday, October 8, 2014 | 10:40 AM

Hey Everyone Its Cody Ruckle with my race report from round 12 of the ITP Powerline Park GNCC. This round is another hometown favorite location, and I had a lot of friends at this race to cheer me on.

The weather was cool, but just about right for racing. The track had tacked up nice from the rain the day before. I lined up five rows from the front in the 250A row. With fellow rider Craig Delong moving up, I knew that is was possible for me to pull a 3rd out of this race. I got a descent start and quickly started making my way to the front. The track was fairly fast and easy, with the famous mud hole being the only concern. I was able to jump the mud hole and got through it clean on every lap.

At the end of the first lap, I was running 3rd and 48th. I kept pushing, maintaining 3rd and gaining overall positions with every lap. I managed to stay up on the lead lap and did not get lapped by the pros, which I'm pretty proud of that! I know I have a lot of training to do to be able to continue to run that pace for 3 plus hours.

I ended my race with a 3rd 250A a 36th overall my best overall finish this season in GNCC.

I would like to thank God for keeping me safe, Mom and Dad.
