Hey Everyone, it's Cody Ruckle with my race report from the Parts Unlimited Mountaineer Run GNCC. It was good to be close to home this weekend. this track was only abut 20 minutes from my house. I spent the week riding and training with friends to get ready. Some rain had fell over night and that morning, which once again made for slick slimey conditions. I headed to the line on my Yamaha super mini, dressed head to toe in my fly gear. I had lots of friends and family there with me on the front line. Ricky threw the flag. I was about third off the line I was able to keep my Yamaha on two wheels with my Kenda Tires. I was about third going into the woods and soon took the overall lead. Before the end of the first lap I crashed and 2nd 3rd and 4th got around me. I was soon able to regain the 4th place position and rode hard to battle my way back into the lead. On the last lap I was only about 4 seconds off of 3rd and hit a rock. I broke my visor, tweek the frontend and bent the front rotor. I was able to finish the race with a solid 4th in the class and 4th overall. Even though it was rainy and the track wasn't as technnical as i had hoped it would be , I felt that I rode a good race. This weekend I will be doing a National Endro in PA. I love those races. I am pumped for Snowshoe in 2 weeks . That place is always a good time. Please pray for my teammate Jed Haines he had a hard crash on Sunday. He has a broken collarbone and hip socket. Get well soon man.
