Round 5 at Loretta Lynn's Ranch is one of the benchmark races of the year. Where you stand after this race is a good indicator of the progress you have made and if your routine is paying off. After crunching all of the data, there is a definite improvement of Jesse's performance but in the end results are basically the same as last year. This means that everyone running in the top ten is working just as hard or harder than us and to assume that any one of these guys will slack up is out of the question. So there is but one solution: train harder! Jesse is the only rider in the top ten that works a weekly job (although flexible) and does most of the wrenching on his bike and makes time to train. Most days- 7:00-8:30 (gym ), 9:00-2:30 or till we get caught up ( work), 3:30-dark  (Ride), dark:30 - bedtime (work on bikes). There is not a lot of time left but maybe the time can be used more wisely.

The trip to Loretta's began with a stop at Ohlins of America on Thursday afternoon, in Hendersonville, NC. These guys have performance suspension for everything from dirt bikes, to road bikes, to NASCAR, to even snow mobiles. It was cool to see all of this.  Friday morning we arrived in Chattanooga TN. at the Trials Training Center where the World Trials Championships were being held.  Friday was practice day and to stand beside the rocks and watch these guys climb these things was amazing. Then it was on to Loretta's Friday night. Saturday we saw (maybe) the best 4-wheeler race of all time! I don't get overly excited on Saturdays, but this one was great.

After checking the conditions Saturday, the track was going to be good for Sunday, with the exception of the threat of rain. Sunday morning looked like rain and it even drizzled a little at the beginning of the morning race. Tire choice is very important at this track with all the rocks. We bet on the rain with our tire choice and it never rained. The start was about as good as one could expect with only five good gates available for a dry run to the first turn. The eighth pick wasn't enough to get on this prime piece of property. The first lap ended and Robinson was 10th, about where he came through the first turn. After working to eighth at one point, Whibley came around and put us back to ninth. With two laps to go Jesse found himself just behind Jarrett before taking a tumble on a hill allowing Edmisten to close the gap with one to go.  Wheel to wheel through the scoring tent, Edmisten made the pass as Robinson couldn't hold the line coming out of the motocross section. 10th place was not what Jesse expected and was very disappointed with his performance. Disappointments come before all victories and the race goes on. Thanks to all our sponsors, Maxxis Tire, HMF, Ohlins, Monster Energy Kawasaki, Moose racing, PG and IMS.
