Round five of the 2021 GNCC Racing season will see a return to the Big Buck Farm for the Tiger Run GNCC. However, don’t expect things to be exactly the same as round one. After experimenting with several venues hosting two events in 2020, the GNCC Track Crew learned that they’re creative enough to mix things up and make the second event at a particular venue feel totally different than the first, and the Tiger Run promises to deliver on that as well.
Visiting the Big Buck Farm as the first event of the season has become a new tradition for the last several seasons but returning in April for the Tiger Run actually brings the Big Buck property full-circle as the venue hosted the Big Buck GNCC in mid April for many years. Traditionally the leaves are beginning to turn green at this time of the year and the soil tends to be a little drier than it does at the beginning of the year.
The course here is typically one of the faster ones, but due to the lay of the land and the flowing trails it never feels like you’re going as fast as you actually are. Additionally there are some tighter sections that can slow things down a bit as well. This makes for a fun day of racing, and when you add in the great soil on this property it’s pretty obvious why people love racing here so much. For the Tiger Run you can expect some of the normal sections from the Big Buck Farm, but the track crew will likely be able to add in a few areas that don’t always make it into the course layout when we race here early in the season, and the overall layout will be much different.
