Trail Jesters KTM Racing - Mason-Dixon GNCC Race Report
The Trail Jester KTM Racing team headed north to Mount Morris, PA this past weekend for Round 8 of the 2022 GNCC season. Warm and dry conditions made for a dusty track as the team geared up and headed out for some GNCC racing.
Mason Semmens: “Best results yet but I still want more, solid end to the race with good lap times which is positive. Onto Snowshoe!”
In the afternoon race, Mason Semmens came through timing and scoring sitting 13th in XC2 at the end of lap one. He moved up to 12th in class by lap two which is a position he held the rest of the race until a last lap charge where he made multiple passes and up down the 3rd fastest lap time on that lap. He crossed the checkered flag 7th in XC2, 14th overall. Simon Johnson also lined up in the XC2 class where he held down 11th in class throughout the day putting in consistent lap times and moving up to 10th in class by the end of the race.
In the WXC class, Korie Steede caught onto the lead group from the beginning of the race, checking in 3rd in class at the end of lap one. Throughout the remainder of the race she held down 3rd in class, finishing her day 3rd WXC and 3rd overall. Taylor Johnston also took on the WXC class this past weekend, putting in a consistent day of racing and finishing her day 13th in class.
Lining up in the Youth morning race were Trail Jesters Next Gen racers Van Gosselin and Jiggs Fustini. In YXC1, Gosselin was off to a rough beginning after a crash just barely into the woods off the start, after getting back up and going he was way back in his class. He put his head down the remainder of the race making his way all the way back up to 4th by the waving of the checkered flag. In YXC2, Fustini was back from injury after not racing GNCCs since round 5. At the end of lap one Fustini was sitting 8th in class and spent his day acclimating from his injury while making passes to finish his day 6th in class.
