SUBJECT: COMPETITION BULLETIN 2019-10:

Codification of Snowshoe Start Procedure

Since its inception in 2007, the Snowshoe GNCC event has featured a unique start procedure whereby the Top 20 overall in series points in the PM Pro races and the Top 5 in class points for all classes have received priority Start Row assignment. The remainder of the riders draw for start row assignment. This unique start procedure was developed due to space constraints which prohibit a traditional mass row start by class. The start of this race is on a county road which can accommodate only a limited number of riders (5-7) per row.

It is necessary to codify this Start Procedure in the GNCC Competition Rules. Accordingly, the GNCC Competition Rules are amended as follows:

GNCC Pro Competition Rules

F. Start Procedure:

4. Snowshoe:  For the Snowshoe PM Pro event only, a block of rows will be designated for each class. The Top 20 overall in series points, regardless of class, will start on the first four rows. Thereafter, the remaining Top 5 in class points will start on the first row designated for the class. The remainder of the class will draw for Start Row assignment at registration.

GNCC Amateur Competition Rules

F. Start Procedure:

1. Riders shall line up on their assigned Starting Row on a first come basis when directed by the race official. No one is permitted on the Start Line until authorized. For the Snowshoe event only, a block of rows will be designated for each class. The Top 5 in class points will start on the first row of the class. The remainder of the class will draw for Start Row assignment at registration.
