Brycen Neal Looks To Keep Momentum Rolling Into Dunlop Tomahawk GNCC
Richardson, Fowler and Borich Aiming For Top Spot

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (May 30, 2019) – This Saturday, June 1, the 2019 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series presented by Specialized, an AMA National Championship, heads to Odessa, New York for the Fifth Annual Dunlop Tomahawk GNCC. This event takes place at the scenic Seneca Highlands, where you can be sure to see fun, flowing trails, fast paced grass track sections and more.

Heading into this weekend, LanMills XC/CST Tires/Houser/Yamaha’s Brycen Neal is looking to keep his momentum rolling after earning the win two weeks ago at The John Penton in Ohio. Neal has been one to keep an eye on this season, and after clinching his first overall win of the season the confidence he has going into this Saturday’s race will help him tremendously. Neal sits third in the point standings, just 10 points behind second place.

Brycen Neal is hoping to keep his momentum rolling into Saturday's Pro ATV race after earning his first win of 2019 two weeks ago.

Yamaha/AmPro/Action Offroad/GBC’s Cole Richardson came through second overall at the previous round, and is aiming to battle for his first win of the season. Richardson sits fourth in the points standings, and has earned two overall podium finishes thus far in the season. This weekend he will be eager to get back to the front of the pack and battle it out at the front.

Currently leading the points is WFR/GBC/Fly Racing/Yamaha’s Walker Fowler. After finishing third overall at the last round, Fowler will be looking to take back that number one spot and earn his 50th overall career win. Not only will Fowler be looking to earn his 50th career win, but he also be anticipating his fifth win of the season.

Maxxis/Fly Racing/Ye Olde Cycle Barn’s Chris Borich came through just shy of a podium finish two weeks ago in Ohio, but this weekend Borich is hoping to get his second victory of 2019. Even though Borich hails from Pennsylvania, this may be the closest race for him and his family as his hometown is just a little over two hours away.

One rider who definitely calls this is hometown race is Maxxis/Ithaca Recreation Sports/Fly Racing’s Hunter Hart. Living just 20 minutes away, Hart is always excited for what seems like his backyard GNCC event. This weekend Hart will be aiming to earn an overall podium position as he has made the move to the XC1 Pro class and claimed two top 5 finishes so far this year.

Ryland Johnson Racing/GBC Motorsports/Ye Olde Cycle Barn’s Westley Wolfe has been putting in some consistent races this year finishing sixth at the last round. Wolfe is hoping to keep his consistency rolling, and will look to break into the top five overall this weekend in New York.

Putting in another top 10 finish in Ohio was BNR Motorsports/GBC Motorsports/HMF Racing’s Joshua Merritt. This Saturday afternoon Merritt is anticipating another good race while looking to battle towards the front of the pack. GBC/Fly Racing/Yamaha’s Johnny Gallagher holds onto 10th in the points standings, and is looking to put in another good ride this weekend as the series heads into the seventh round.

Two other New York natives excited for this weekend’s Tomahawk GNCC are Spider Graphix/GBC Motorsports/Moose Racing/Custom Axis’ Martin Christofferson and M.R. Unlimited/GBC Tires/RJR’s Devon Feehan. Christofferson and Feehan currently sit inside the top 20 overall in the points standings, but are looking to improve their results at their home state race.

In the XC2 Pro-Am Pierce Performance/Maxxis/Waynesburg Yamaha’s John Glauda Jr. continues to successfully lead the class. Glauda Jr. earned seventh overall at the previous round, and is eager to head to New York and battle for this seventh win of the season. One rider trying to stop his success this weekend will be LanMills XC/CST Tires/Moose Racing’s Drew Landers. Another rider looking to break into the top spot will be SSi Decals/Hinson Racing/GBC/Roman Empire MX’s Ben Kowalewski.

The Specialized Turbo eMTB GNCC National Championship will return for round four this weekend as Charlie Mullins is looking to take home another overall win. Mullins currently leads the points standings, and has earned the first three wins of the eMTB season. Nat Ross currently sits second in the points standings followed by Leon Hanson sitting third overall.

GNCC Racing welcomes back New York Off-Road Association (NYOA), formerly known as Western New York Off-Road Association. Multiple racers compete in both the NYOA and GNCC series and with memberships in New York being at a record high. Both Tomahawk and Black Sky will be co-sanctioned events.
