On October 8, 2011, a meeting was held among the ATV XC1 and XC2 racers following the conclusion of the ATV Pro Race at the St. Clairsville GNCC. The purpose of the meeting was to commence a dialogue concerning the continued format of the XC2 class, and what if any changes were needed in the class.
As the premiere class, it is important that the XC1 class maintain a strong starting lineup. However, currently there is no requirement or mandate for XC2 riders to advance to the XC1 class. Based on the group discussion, GNCC has prepared the attached 2012 Proposed GNCC Pro Rules, highlighting proposed changes to the ATV XC2 class. It is the intent of the proposed changes to encourage voluntary advancement from the XC2 class to the XC1 class, without requiring advancement.
The meeting will reconvene next Saturday, October 22 at 5:30 PM at the Ironman GNCC at the Can-Am semi, for the purpose of further discussion and review of the rules in preparation for next year's racing season. All ATV XC1 and XC2 riders are encouraged to attend.
