The 2017 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) series presented by Maxxis, an AMA National Championship, travels to Peru, Indiana for the inaugural X-Factor GNCC this weekend, May 20 and 21. This weekend will mark the first time that an off-road racing event has been held at the X-Factor Whitetails Farm, and while WFR/Yamaha/Maxxis/Fly Racing’s Walker Fowler is the only person to reign victorious so far this year the new venue will reset the playing field for all.

As the GNCC series takes on a new venue, everyone is put into contention for the overall win. However, Fowler’s impressive five-race winning streak will continue to provide the two-time champion with confidence as the series heads into round six. Plus the added benefit that he favors the Indiana track conditions, this will only add to his momentum as he looks to add another win to his resume.

All eyes will be on Walker Fowler as he attempts to secure his sixth-straight win of the season.

Coastal Racing’s Brycen Neal is still on the hunt for his first career overall win. Neal has been a standout rider this year finishing on the podium at every round except for one, where he finished just off the box in fourth. The Ohio native has lead races earlier this season, proving that he has the capability of winning a GNCC race if he can overcome the pressure from Fowler.

Sitting just three points behind Neal is CST/Induction Solutions/LSR/HiPer/Spider Graphix’s Adam McGill. McGill’s season has slowly progressed, but just two weeks ago McGill showed the most promise in putting Fowler’s winning streak to an end. With the knowledge of the speed needed to top the charts, McGill will be one to keep an eye on at the X-Factor GNCC.

Heading into this round ranked fourth is JMR/ATVriders.com’s Jarrod McClure. With five top-five finishes this season, McClure continues his bid for the National Championship in America’s premier off-road racing organization this Saturday.

GBC/Canyon Motorsports/Fly Racing’s Landon Wolfe travels to Indiana tied in points with the six-time GNCC champion, Chris Borich. Wolfe has yet to make a podium appearance this year, but spent the last race demonstrating that he has the speed needed to land himself a spot on the box this weekend. After a mechanical issue struck Borich last round, he will be looking to do the same thing as Wolfe in Indiana.

Landon Wolfe earned his first career podium finish at the last race in Indiana, which could provide him with the momentum to do it again.

The XC2 Pro-Am rookie and M.R. Unlimited/Hygear Suspension/GBC Tires/Tire Spine’s Devon Feehan was absent from the podium in South Carolina, but still has control the points championship. Ithaca Recreation/Maxxis/Quad Tech/Storm Peak Crossfit’s Hunter Hart continues to keep Feehan within striking distance where he is just ten points behind. GBC/Goldspeed/Custom Axis-backed Matthew Lindle has shown great success and improvement this season with five top-four placements and heads into this weekend with the hopes of returning to the podium.

Saturday’s race schedule is as follows: Youth ATV racing begins at 8 a.m., followed by amateurs, 4x4 Pro and Women at 10 a.m., and the pros and top amateurs race at 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon will also include 50cc Micro racing beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Adult (12+) gate admission is $20 for the full weekend and $10 for kids (6-11), with kids five and under free. Gate admission includes pro pit access and pro autographs at no additional charge.

The event is co-sanctioned with IXCR, a series that produces local racing events across Indiana, and will ultimately bring out a full slate of local racers. All local racers are invited to compete at the X-Factor GNCC, as GNCC Racing offers classes for riders of all skill and experience levels. The amateur race entry fee is $40 if racers pre-enter, and $50 if racers sign up at the track. To learn more about GNCC Racing please visit the GNCC101 webpage.

With four podium finishes this year, Brycen Neal pushes to put it all together and stand in the middle of the box for the first time.
