Race Report: GNCC Rnd 1 ~ Big Buck

Result: 3rd XC3 Class

It had been a while since I had lined up for a GNCC; 28 months to be exact; it was great to be back on the line hearing that ten second call again.

I got a good start and nabbed the holeshot.

The track was pretty cut up and dusty. We quickly caught the back of the XC2 class. After leading about 10 miles my adrenaline started to wear off and I began to succumb to the flu that had kept me off the bike all week. I quickly dropped to fourth.

I tried to ride a consistent pace that I hoped would see me through to the finish. At the final pit stop I was done. Nothing left. To be honest I was just happy to be back on a bike again at he race and to make it to the finish line was awesome. To come home 3rd was so cool. Hopefully with another week I can get back to full strength and be on the hunt for a win in Florida.
