Ricky Russell wins the race to the first turn and puts the RM-Z450 on the podium at the latest GNCC race. That is the first time Suzuki has made a podium appearance in 5 years.

However the third turn into the 3 hour race, Russell found himself on the ground. He was able to get going quickly, and started his charge to the podium. As each lap was recorded, the Obermeyer/MCS Racing Suzuki rider was on pace with the leaders and was less than ten seconds from second place at the end of lap five.

With a good distance on the fourth place rider and on the verge of his best finish of the season, Russell reduced his place slightly in order to safely ride his Suzuki backed machine to the podium celebration.

With his best GNCC finish this year, along with winning the IXCR Extreme Enduro earlier in the month, Russell ends September on a high note and is looking forward to the next GNCC event this weekend at Powerline Park in St. Clairsville Ohio.
