Administrative Assistant 

About the Job We’re hiring a full-time administrative assistant to work in a busy publishing/professional motorcycle racing promotion office based in Morgantown. We’re looking for a smart, honest, reliable, cooperative, hardworking employee with a great attitude. Some details of the position follow.

Applicant must:

  • Live in or be willing to move to Morgantown, WV.
  • Be familiar with our products and events. You will need to be able to answer day-to-day questions about our events, so being familiar with racing and what we do is imperative.
  • Be technically proficient and curious. The candidate must have experience with Microsoft Office and email communication.
  • Communicate well and be friendly. The racing industry is a close-knit group. Having positive relationships with our racers, fans, and advertisers is important to us.
  • Be reliable. You’ve got to come through, whether simply showing up for work on time or nurturing a project successfully from beginning to end.
  • Be cool. Seriously, this is a tough job, but it’s pretty amazing at the same time. We all work hard, but we’re working on something we absolutely love and are proud to be a part of. This position is integral to our business.

Responsibilities:

  • Telephone
    • Answer all lines
    • Answer questions about events
    • Forward calls to appropriate staff
    • Screen calls as needed
    • Take messages as needed
    • Filter call priority as needed
  • Email
    • Answer “info” questions about events
    • Forward specific emails to appropriate staff
  • Front Door
    • Answer general questions
    • Direct guests to appropriate staff members
    • Filter guest priority for staff as needed
  • Sort and distribute mail
  • Assist management with scheduling
  • Assist office staff as needed, including but not limited to:
    • Mailing
    • Making copies, file, sorting, etc.
    • Data entry
    • Making coffee
  • Assist in event coordination and administration
  • Coordinate office equipment supplies and maintenance scheduling
  • Coordinate vendor deliveries
  • Maintain stock supply lists
  • Light cleaning
  • Some travel required
