ATV Championship Battle Heats Up Heading to Amsoil Snowshoe GNCC
Adam McGill and Walker Fowler

MORGANTOWN, W.Va (June 17, 2015) – The ATV championship points battle of the 2015 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series presented by Maxxis, an AMA National Championship heats up as the series heads to it’s final stop before summer break with this weekend’s AMSOIL Snowshoe GNCC at the Snowshoe Mountain Resort in West Virginia.

CST/PirateMX.com/LSR/DeRisi/Tireblocks/SG rider Adam McGill currently holds a 22-point lead over N-Fab/AmPro Yamaha/Maxxis/Lonestar rider Walker Fowler who claimed the win in the previous round at the Wiseco John Penton GNCC in Millfield, Ohio. Fowler will look to carry his momentum into this weekend’s round and hope to claim another win. However, a win will not come easy as Adam McGill is no stranger to the center of the Snowshoe podium as the West Virginia native won last year’s Snowshoe GNCC.

JMR/ATVRiders.com-backed Jarrod McClure still holds onto the third-place spot in the championship point standings. McClure has been able to claim multiple podium finishes throughout the 2015 season, but ultimately will be looking to claim his first-ever GNCC overall win. With rough, rocky and muddy terrain at Snowshoe, anything is possible and McClure has a chance to break-through for his first win.

After a solid third place XC1 and fourth place overall finish at the John Penton GNCC, Maxxis/B. Neal Motorsports Brycen Neal currently sits tied for fourth place in the championship point standings. Neal will look to return to the podium this weekend with the hopes of improving his championship points position.

Team Maxxis’ Chris Borich sits tied with Neal for the fourth place position. While Borich still remains winless in the 2015 season, this will ultimately work as motivation for the defending series champion to return to his winning ways.

Bithell Racing/Maxxis/Precision’s Chris Bithell still remains the only rider other than McGill and Fowler to claim a win in the 2015 season. Unfortunately, Bithell has also seen a bit of bad luck several times throughout the season and will look to rebound from that to improve upon his current sixth place ranking in championship points.

Fasttrax/Wolf Racing’s Brian Wolf is another rider who is definitely no stranger to the center-step of the Snowshoe GNCC podium. Wolf made history at the 2009 Snowshoe GNCC as the first XC2 Pro-Am rider to ever claim an overall victory. Wolf backed that up with the same performance once again in 2010. Currently sitting eighth in the 2015 championship standings, Wolf will undoubtedly be looking to return to the overall podium.

Coastal/Waynesburg Yamaha’s Jay Shadron currently sits ninth in championship standings and has previously proved to be capable of podium finishes. Coming into a round where anything could happen, Shadron will be looking to claim his second podium of the season. Rounding out the top ten of the championship point standings is GBC/Yamaha/HMF rider Johnny Gallagher, who is another rider that has claimed multiple podium finishes throughout his career and hopes to return to a podium finish.

In the XC2 Pro Am class, N-Fab/AmPro Yamaha/Maxxis/Lonestar’s Cole Richardson would once again claim the win at the John Penton GNCC, further extending his class points lead. The battle for second place is beginning to heat up as RYCO Racing rider Cody Collier has worked his way into second place, just six points ahead of Martin Christofferson in class point standings.
